During the day you'll have the chance to take part in your choice of three activities from the list below. We've got all the arrangements in place so all of these activities should be on offer, unless there are any last minute illnesses. There may be more - and if there is something you would like to see let us know and we'll see what we can do.

Getting from your place to myplace

Getting from A to B is a constant battle if you don't have access to your own wheels.  It is also a really important aspect of making myplace centres successful.  This workshop explores how transport is used by young people and how it affects their day to day life, but also how it affects the myplace projects around the country.

Make your voice heard

Want to make yourself heard?  Yes we thought you might.  That's why we organized the Speakers Bank workshop to help you make your viewpoint heard positively and with confidence.

Jargon Busters

One of the biggest barriers to getting involved in managing or running a project is the amount of business gobbledygook that professionals use.  This workshop looks at what words senior members of the project teams use and changing these so young people can fully understand, and be able to get more involved in meetings with them.

Governance

Getting young people involved in running your myplace centre should be a key aspect of taking your project forward.   The legal aspects of doing this may not be one of the more glamorous ones but it is definitely one of the most important.  And that is why we decided it would be a good idea to organise governance workshops to run through some points that might be of interest.

Making your centre stand out from the crowd

Marketing is one of the most important parts of any business or project, myplace included. It's also one of the most difficult to get right. As with all of our workshops places are limited, so if you want the lowdown on PR, branding and advertising then don't delay in getting booked onto this workshop.

Building your own myplace

Ever fancied donning a hard hat and an ill-fitting pair of jeans?  Maybe you already have the jeans.  This workshop looks at what really goes into building a myplace centre in a fun way.

Want to be a good citizen?

Citizenship is about taking a more active part in the decisions that affect everyone's lives.  This workshop looks at young people's rights and what power you have and how can you use it effectively.

Shoot some hoops

You may not aspire to be the next Magic Johnson. You may not even be tall enough to shake his hand.  But that shouldn't stop you from trying out some of the core skills of basketball and taking part in a fun tournament.

Feeling ropey?

If you feel like you need a bit of a lift why not get involved in our course of high ropes and platforms.  Getting round it will challenge your skills and determination.   And for those of you without a head for heights there is a low ropes course.  It's like the high ropes course only a bit closer to earth.  Or if you want to stay closer to the wall you can pit yourself against the different climbs available on the onsite wall.

Get into some culture

The Tensing performing arts group will be running a session at the festival incorporating dance, drama, and choir.  The group caters for 11- 25 year olds and is run by young people for young people.  Come along and let them show you what you could achieve.   There are also workshops on music and dance available.  If music is important to your local community or myplace project the music workshop run by real musicians may be your kind of gig.  Or if you like your culture a bit more mobile why not try out our modern dance workshop?

Getting lyrical

If words are your thing then why not get some expert advice on writing lyrics?  Our workshop on positive lyrics in music and using them to get a message across will help you pen that song that's kicking around in your head.

Being crafty

Still got some untapped creative juices to use up?  Have some fun and games with arts and crafts in this creative session.  You may unleash the hidden Damien Hirst within you.
