Hornsey Road Baths Community Launch Event

Fourteen young people presented a dramatic display to invited guests at the Hornsey Road Baths on Thursday 3rd September. In the currently empty and dilapidated premises they put on a displayof innovative energy and humour.

Summarising the history of the baths, its demise and eventual closure in 1991 the young people captured the attention and the imagination of the audience.

Multi-media displays around the hall reflected the consultation and involvemnt of the community. The poem (left) displayed on the wall, reflects the tone of the evening.

Wearing t-shirts that echoed their thoughts about this dance-focused centre planned for Islington the young people sang out to the assembled audience:

"I am not like anything you have seen before"
