Youth Opportunity Fund/Youth Capital Fund: good practice guidance

Tags: every child matters | Funding Sources | young people involvement

Author: YouthBank UK; for the Department for Children, Schools and Families, 2008.

The Youth Opportunity and Youth Capital Fund were introduced in April 2006, providing £115 million over two years across all local authorities in England. Young people decide how these funds should be used to support positive activities and youth facilities in their areas, with applications for funding also led by young people. This good practice guidance is based on a range of published and unpublished sources, plus interviews with fund leads, support staff or young people in 18 local authority areas.
