Young people from Lewisham's Wells Park Youth Facility project have received the Make a Difference award for their commitment to volunteering in the area.

For those who are unaware of just what the Support Team has to offer, here is a bit of a rundown of what we can do to help your project.

Basically this is a business plan review. You all have a business plan so that's nothing new but through this review we will help projects operate this plan in a viable and appropriate way.

A few months ago, the myplace Support Team ran a couple of financial sustainability workshops. These were held in already open myplace centres; the first in Halton's C-RMZ and the second at the Bridgwater YMCA. This was a great way of showing projects that are still being planned or built just how existing centres are dealing with financial sustainability. It also gave delegates a good opportunity to mingle with their peers and trade tips and experiences. In both cases the centre managers were asked about what had gone right and wrong, the highs and lows, and the challenges that still lay ahead, and they were very honest in their answers; something that will undoubtedly help the projects that attended.

The Hub project in Barnard Castle, Teesdale can give themselves a massive pat on the back after winning three awards at the 2011 North East Constructing Excellence Awards.
