The Legacy Award - sustainabilityThe Hub in Barnard Castle is a totally unique project providing a sustainable, innovative world class facility, designed and developed in conjunction with local young people. It provides access to a unique range of cultural, leisure, sporting, recreational and educational facilities all housed within a WOW factor building and setting which is in harmony with its rural location. The project have worked hard on ensuring The Hub is sustainable for the future, and now the hard work has paid off. Achiever of the Year - Keith ‘Joe' JonesThis award recognises outstanding performance or influence by an individual who is truly inspirational in the opinion of the sector peer group. Keith Jones has shown exemplary actions that have changed the behavior and performance of others and delivered disproportionate benefits for, and left a legacy in, the outputs of the built environment sector. A massive well done to Keith. Project of the YearThis is the big one. If this were a soap award it would be the one Eastenders and Coronation Street always win. The judges had a challenging task in selecting a winner and many factors were considered, including, technical achievement, innovation, design, teamwork, health and safety, quality, programme, cost and application of best practice. The entries were judged on the basis of the quality and content, the judges' individual knowledge of projects, site visits and various other methods.
This is a fantastic achievement for The Hub and further proof that myplace projects really are innovative, forward-thinking and world class. A huge congratulations to everyone involved at The Hub, and keep up the good work.
