In North London the Project Inspiration @ Edmonton Youth Hub led by the London Borough of Enfield is awarded a £3 million grant to create a state-of-the-art centre that local 13 to 19 year olds can call their own. Planning to open from 10.00am until 10.00pm seven days a week the project will include hi-tech facilities including music recording studios, radio and TV broadcasting studios and a driving simulator.

Stefan Cadek, Deputy Head of Youth Support Service on behalf of Project Inspiration Edmonton Board, said: "We will have a world class youth facility led and driven by young people who want change. The vision of the young people and partners has created a blueprint for a centre full of opportunities. This will be a lasting legacy that makes a difference to the lives of thousands of young people."

Young people will also be able to take part in sports and art and access a range of support services such as advice on alternative education, substance misuse, healthy eating and young parenting. Counselling and anti-knife workshops will also be offered and some of the support services will be offered by project partners including Enfield NHS, Metropolitan Police and charity 4Children.

This youth-led project in Edmonton will be targeted at 13-19 year olds, especially those who are not in education, employment or training. Opening hours will be 10am - 10pm daily and activities offered will include arts, a range of sport, music studios, radio and TV broadcasting, arts and driving simulator. Support services will include advice on alternative education, teenage pregnancy and young parenting, healthy eating, substance-misuse, counselling and anti-knife workshops.
