LUC - PurgatoryA while back we told you about the London Urban Collective and mentioned their award-winning Hipopera Inferno. Following on from that, the LUC are producing another reworking of a classic, this time Dante's Purgatory.

The project, now in its sixth year, selected 30 aspiring artists and producers from open auditions and empowered them to write, record and promote Purgatory under expert guidance. The young people were challenged to interpret the text and consider how it might be relevant in today's society.

Pleasance Theatre director Anthony Alderson said: "London Urban Collective is such a unique and exciting project and it has been inspiring to see how talented and determined the Collective are to bring this epic and powerful story to life through their own words and experiences. We're delighted to be supporting Urban Collective and showcasing Purgatory."
