Just Play is a new project being delivered through the partnership between The Football Association (The FA) and Mars which aims to increase participation in Football for players aged 16 years and over. An element of this partnership is the delivery of a new initiative focussing on social football.
Through the new ‘Get into Football' officers, County FA's and other partners, The FA aim to open a network of ‘Just Play' centres which will encourage adults to reengage with the game. What is ‘Just Play' social football?‘Just Play' is essentially where every footballer started... by having a kick about! The aim is for the sessions to be fun and informal, unstructured but organised and for the participants. Basically it is JUMPERS FOR GOALPOSTS!
Partners will receive a resource pack of kit and equipment to support the delivery of Just Play centres which will be supported and marketed through a national advertising campaign. When will ‘Just Play' centres kick off?The FA will be delivering pilot centres prior to May 2011 to develop the programme and address any issues. The project will then rollout nationally through 50 initial centres in May/June.
For further information or to get involved in the project at this early stage email justplay@thefa.com.
