The Glass-House will tailor their support to assist community projects in regeneration and how to push their projects forward in the right direction. They offer advice over the telephone, useful links and downloads, and also will visit to meet a project and discuss design options.
Up to five days of bespoke support is offered and is available across the UK through an application process.
The Glass-House also runs two-day courses designed to help community members, who live and work in the areas, to gain confidence and develop skills necessary to lead their projects to fruition. This includes everything from developing the vision to understanding its progress and even about sustainability.
Up to five members of a community group may attend the courses which are led by experienced design professionals and are free to members of tenant, resident and community groups. The courses are hands-on, practical and feature visits to inspirational places relevant to your project.
The Glass-House also offers one-day study tours that take groups to look at regeneration in public spaces and community projects. These tours are also free and should give you an insight into regeneration and give you inspiration for your own project.
Groups will hear directly from those involved with regeneration projects and how they went about designing, developing and creating their projects. Talking with people who have been there and done it will help you to see the positive effects regeneration can have on an area.
Rebecca Maguire, senior project manager, said the courses offer a great opportunity to meet others and see what they are doing with their projects.
She said: "It's really good to meet other, like-minded groups and share ideas, hopefully to the benefit of everyone. By the end of the course everyone has progressed together and can then they can take that away and really push their projects forward."
The design courses and study tours are arranged across the country throughout the year.
