Thursday, 10 September 2009 10:37

dept_energy_climate_changeThe Low Carbon Buildings Programme is a grant scheme run by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform.  It aims to fund more low-carbon buildings and all non-profit and community organisations can apply for funding.  You can apply for grants to install various micro-generation technologies in any permanent buildings.

Grants are currently provided towards the cost of installing the following technologies:

  • Wind turbines
  • Small scalehydro
  • Solar hot water
  • Ground source heat pumps
  • Air source heat pumps
  • Biomass

You can apply for 50 per cent of the cost for installing approved micro-generation technologies. You can get hold of an application form here:

This fund was planned to close at the end of June 2009, but has now received extra funding until April 2011.
