After talking to projects around the country, the myplace support team found that there was a definite need for assistance with the legal aspect of their myplace projects, and so three seminars were arranged in London, Leeds and Birmingham.
Run by legal team Burness, the seminars covered a wide range of issues, such as charities, networking and partnerships, all of which are important to consider when setting up a myplace project.
All of the seminars were well attended and feedback was excellent, meaning hopefully some worries, questions and confusions regarding legal practice of myplace projects have now been quelled.
Graeme Palmer of Burness, who hosted the seminars, was pleased with how the seminars went. He said: "The feedback we got was really positive. It was a great opportunity for various projects to share their experiences, and it's always helpful to know that other people are facing the same difficulties as you.
"It's important that projects come along to seminars such as these because there is a lot of legal and governance work to be done and you must be aware of any potential pitfalls and know what you are taking on."
