ysdf_logoTen million pounds is being made available for third sector organisations aiming to raise the aspirations of disadvantaged young people.

Around 25 organisations will receive a mixture of grants and business support, from April 2010 to March 2011.

The fourth round of the government's Youth Sector Development Fund (YSDF) will look at supporting the aim of the Information, Advice and Guidance Strategy, which can be found here.

Schools minister Iain Wright said: "In particular I want to see proposals that will help young people and their families with low aspirations and capture their imagination through exciting forms of work experience, tasters and work-related learning, and increase support through mentoring."

Other funding rounds have focused on crime prevention and positive activities.

For an application form, visit the YSDF website here. The deadline for applications is 4 February 2010.
