Play England ispart of National Children's Bureau and helps deliver provision to meet the Government's play strategy. The initiative to establish Play England as the national organisation for play is funded by the Big Lottery Fund as an integral part of their Children's Play initiative. They deliver two programmes on behalf of DCSF - Play Builder and Play Pathfinder. Some £235m is available to create new play opportunities such as adventure playgrounds. Their key target group is 8 to 13 year-olds.
Play England is keen to identify where play is a key activity within myplace projects and to see where combining resources can help achieve more creative and challenging play facilities. They may also be interested in developing a guide for developing play through myplace with the myplace support team.
Anyone interested in involving Play England in taking forward play proposals for their myplace project should contact them. You can find out more about Play England on their website: www.playengland.org.uk.
