This November the Young Consultants and other members of the myplace support team are organising the new must-attend event of the year for young people involved in developing and running myplace projects
And we want you to be a part of it.
There will be a vast array of activities to see and do at the festival, such as music acts, poetry, sports, workshops and training opportunities. It will be a great opportunity for young people to meet other young people involved in other myplace projects, and get to see what others around the country are up to.
There will be both a northern and a southern festival, making sure that the whole country will have a chance to attend. The northern leg of the festival will take place on the 27th October with the southern leg happening a few days later on the 30th.
The venues are top secret and will be announced at a later date, but rest assured they will be packed with all sorts of fun and exciting things to do and see.
We need volunteers aplenty to help out at the festival, collecting tickets, serving drinks, organising acts, and just making sure the whole thing runs smoothly.
To volunteer or to come along to the festival won't cost you a penny, it's all on the house! Volunteers will also then have the opportunity to earn an ASDAN accredited qualification for giving up your time. Surely that's worth it!
Young Consultant Jennie Richards is really excited at the idea of setting up a festival. She said: "I think it's a fantastic idea. It's such a great opportunity for young people to meet others just like them, and it's going to be a brilliant day, I can't wait.
"But we need as many people as we can to get involved and help out. It will be really rewarding and I think everyone will really get something out of it."
So if you fancy helping out or want some more information on the festival then contact Lola Oladapo on 07796 335636 or send a CV to lola.oladapo@england.ymca.org.uk by 25th September.
To book your free tickets to the festival just register online and then go tell all your mates to do the same!
