London Urban CollectibeFor those not ‘in the know', London Urban Collective is a free youth music project that empowers young people aged 15-25 years, aspiring to a career in the music industry, to write, record and promote original music for independent release under expert professional mentoring.

And for this year's project they are holding open auditions for rappers, singers, MCs, bands, producers, anyone with any musical talent to showcase their skills.

This could be a great opportunity to get yourself noticed and, in addition London Urban Collective also builds a recording studio in the partner community centre to facilitate ongoing recordings and audio production training.

The auditions are taking place at the Pleasance Theatre in London on 20th, 21st, 27th and 28th March, and will last from 10am-5pm.

Since its launch in London in 2004, more than 500 young artists across the UK have collaborated to produce several albums, an award-winning feature film, documentaries, music videos and dozens of live shows and music industry showcases.

luc-eflyerMost recently London Urban Collective produced an original ‘Hipopera' called Inferno that won Best Narrative Short at The Chicago International Hip Hop Film Festival 2009.

Duncan from Glasgow said: "I studied music at college and I've learned more about the music industry and met more like-minded people by being part of the collective than I did in four years at college."
