Positive Activities for Young People

Monday, 16 November 2009 09:58

positive_activities_for_young_peopleAs myplace is all about providing positive activities for young people, we thought that this conference might be of quite considerable interest.

It will take place on December 10th 2009 at the Bloomsbury Hotel in London, and will allow you to hear the latest policy developments and strategies designed to increase positive activities for young people across the UK.

Although myplace is a substantial government investment in young people, there are numerous other programmes and schemes taking place throughout the country to engage and support young people. This conference is your opportunity to find out about them and maybe even get involved.

Run by Neil Stewart Associates and supported by brilliant youth charity Catch 22, the event will feature a host of guests speakers, including myplace support team Head Honcho Mr Jeremy Wyatt, and representatives from the DfE and Arts Council England. They will address what the state of play is regarding projects and programmes that involve positive activities for young people.

Suzannah Povey of Neil Stewart Associates said: "Recent evidence from the Department for Children, Schools and Families show young people are positive about organised activities but often fail to take part due to lack of information and provision at times when they are most wanted.

"This event will give delegates an opportunity to learn about PAYP commissioning, government strategy and funding and what local authorities can do to ensure young people know what is on offer in their community. The event also offers a great opportunity to meet with fellow PAYP workers, representatives from local authorities, education, YOTs and police to share good practice on service delivery that works"

In addition, have a look at what previous attendees have said about the conference:
