Most myplace projects will run social enterprises as part of their centres, such as cafes, conference facilities, performance facilities and meeting room hire. But what does all that mean and how can you go about running a successful one in your project?

Now we could just give you all the answers right here, right now, but that that would defeat the purpose of us organising a social enterprise seminar in London on Wednesday 16^th June. It will be a mixture of presentations and practical help designed to help those interested in running a successful social enterprise. Those wanting to run an unsuccessful one need not apply.

There will be two workshop options:

Running a community café - the award-winning Sunlight Development Trust will deliver a workshop on setting up and running a community café. This could be quite useful as it would seem a lot of myplace projects are including a café in their plans.

Running conference facilities - This is being run by the revered Action for Business Limited who run a business centre in Bradford. Again, this could be useful as this may be a facility that many may have overlooked but could do with a little helping hand on.
