Social EnterpriseSocial enterprise is a term that you may have heard banded round often, but it's also a term that may confuse you as to what it actually means.  Well we have a couple of pieces available that may help you understand what social enterprise is and how you can make it work for you.

We have a PowerPoint presentation giving you an introduction on social enterprise, giving a bit of information about the different forms of social enterprise and how it works.  And we also have a set of starting questions on how social enterprise can benefit you and what you can do to integrate it into your business plans.

These came about from our June social enterprise seminar Malcolm McClean of the myplace Support Team ran with Chris Dabbs from Unlimited Potential. Action for Business Ltd and Brighter Futures also contributed to the event.  The workshop covered several topics, including the different types of social enterprise, social franchising and how to run a successful conference facility.

Malcolm was very pleased with how the conference was received.  He said: "The feedback we got was excellent, definitely one of the best workshops we've done so far. There was a lot of interaction with everyone there and I think they took a lot out of it. The materials that we have available should definitely help those wanting to know more about social enterprise."
