Young people get say in education priorities

Wednesday, 18 November 2009 10:13

eduprioritiesAll too often what's important in education does not take into account the views of young people, and, after all, theirs is just as important a view as anyone's - they're the ones being educated.

However, charity UK Youth is asking young people what they feel is important when it comes to education. An online vote will ask young people to choose two conflicting ideas for the future of education. A series of these votes is available on the site such as whether education should develop a child's creativity or create a level playing field for all.

The charity has created the site alongside education organisation FutureLab, and aims to uncover the priorities, hopes and fears of the general public regarding education. It is part of Beyond Current Horizons, a programme of research undertaken by FutureLab on behalf of the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
