Called Write Here, Right Now, the initiative will see the young reporters, aged 13-19 sent to write article and features on a number of high profile events, including MTV's Play to Stop concert on 7th December, The Guardian's International Development Journalism Awards and the Vinspired Awards, which features a performance by Tinchy Stryder.
The team were recruited through a promotion in publications such as Sugar, and any material produced will feature on the Write Here, Right Now website, with the possibility of publication in national newspapers and magazines.
One of the reporters April Williamson, 17, from London, said: "I've always wanted to get involved with local and international issues such as climate change, but I've always found that my age has restricted me."
The initiative is funded through the Department for International Development's Ukaid, and is run by Live Futures, which publishes Live Magazine.
