click to open OnSide websiteCarlisle Youth Zone is being developed by new NW charity OnSide.

OnSide has been set up to build a network of 21st century Youth Centres across the North West that will give young people top quality, safe and affordable places to go in their leisure time.

The Carlisle Youth Zone will be based on the model of the successful Bolton Lads and Girls Club (BLGC).

Explains Jerry Glover (Chief Executive BLGC & OnSide): "The days are gone when young people will flock to a run-down Youth Club with inadequate facilities - they would rather stay on the streets... and we are well aware of the dangers and problems associated with that.

Listen to young people and their wishes are clear and simple ... They ask for somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to. If we can give them that, it will make a huge difference to the lives of thousands and thousands of ordinary kids in our region"
