Amy Shephard is the myplace support team Project Manager and Regional Champion for the North West, North East and Yorkshire and the Humber. She is also a Principal Consultant for Hall Aitken.Amy went to school in Cockermouth (a real place in Cumbria), which she says has ‘great views over the Lake District, but little to do in the evenings.’ She studied Biochemistry at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), realising about a year in to the course that it might not be the career for her but sticking it out for 3 years for the degree. Amy also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sustainable Development. She is particularly proud of Neighbourhood Renewal Fund evaluation she did when first working with Hall Aitken. ‘Despite resistance to the evaluation findings,’ says Amy, ‘the board adopted all of the reports recommendations and changed the way the programme was run.’ ‘I really enjoy the job that I do and am really happy that I get lots of opportunities to travel’ explains Amy, who is currently renovating her first home on the edge of the Peak District. A quick learner, Amy recently discovered the art of hand-standing, aged 29, which more than made up for the disappointment of failing her driving test four times. She is a keen cook, explaining that food is one of her favourite things, and is also dab handed when it comes to knitting; she is planning on launching her own line of holey scarves any time soon!
