Multi-Million Pound Centres of Opportunity for North West London YouthYoung people in three North West London boroughs will have opportunities to get involved in music, cookery, sport and computing at their own world-class facilities funded by a £12.7 million Government investment, announced today. Young people in Harlesden, Brent, can look forward to the Roundwood Centre being built with a grant of close to £5 million awarded to the London Borough of Brent who will deliver the project in partnership with other organisations. The centre will include an IT suite, café, arts workshop, climbing wall and performance area and will enable young people aged 13 to 19 to get involved in dance, theatre, cookery, sports, computing and radio broadcasting. Roundwood Centre staff will work with the project’s partnership organisations to provide advice and information services for young people on housing, sexual health, counselling and vocational training. It hopes to increase the abilities, aspirations and confidence of some of the most disadvantaged young people in the borough. Total Award: £4,997,151 |
