These sessions provide a great opportunity for project to reflect on where they are and the actions they need to take to make their myplace centre all it can be. They can discuss what they think they're doing well and also where they feel they can improve. We can then provide support and talk to them about how best to go about it.
During the session, we noticed that one of the young people was scribbling away at Manga-style cartoons and so we asked them to draw a picture of the Support Team. We think it's really rather good but needs closer inspection...
Next, the smaller picture at the top shows Amy giving the others a ticking off. This either represents Amy's tyrannical personality or the others' slovenly nature and inability to get through the day without multiple caffeine boosts. Or both. Most likely both.
Finally, how did they get the Support Team to pose for so long? Shouldn't they have been working? There's that slovenly nature again.
Anyhow, tyrannical Support Team matriarch Amy was suitably impressed with the drawing and the day as a whole. She said: "It's really good, although I can assure I'm not really that bad! Overall, the day has been really worthwhile and hopefully the project has taken a lot out of it."
Area Youth Worker, Jenny Stamford gave us some encouraging feedback. She said: "Many thanks for the workshop. Our young people were delighted to be involved and look forward to more such opportunities."
