Strategy seminar (Newcastle)

Print
Friday, 26 March 2010, 10:30am - 2:00pm Hits : 244

As you are no doubt aware, DCSF expects every top tier Local Authority to produce a ‘strategy for change for youth facilities'.

"it is essential that local partners from across public, third and private sectors work together with young people, their families and their communities to develop a more integrated and strategic approach to making best use of all available assets and funding streams to improve places to go"

(DCSF Ministerial Letter and Guidance note 2008)

The myplace support team provides free support to Local Authorities and their partners to produce these strategies.  As part of our programme of support we are running a series of seminars in March 2010.

All seminars will run from 10.30 to 2pm.

At the seminar you will:

  • Understand DCSF's requirements
  • Benchmark your progress against other Local Authorities
  • Share learning and examples of good practice
  • Find out more about what support we can provide

You should attend one of these seminars if you are:

  • Already receiving support but want to learn more about what other Local Authorities are doing
  • Already have a strategy but want to see whether it meets DCSF expectations
  • Have started to develop your strategy and want to learn more
  • Don't yet have a strategy in place
  • Are running a myplace project and want to ensure that it fits within a wider strategy

The seminars will be useful for:

  • Principal Youth Officers/Heads of Service
  • Directors of Children and Young People's services.
  • myplace project managers
  • Voluntary sector partners

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  So book your place now to avoid disappointment.

Location: Central Square, Forth Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 3PL
